City of Roxboro Planning Director Julie Kelly told The Courier-Times Tuesday she had just issued a permit to Osborne Construction of Eden. The company will soon begin construction on a combined Taco Bell/Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Durham Road in Roxboro.

The new establishment is scheduled to replace the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at 1039 N. Madison Blvd.

The KFC/Taco Bell restaurant is to be builton a 1.9-acre lot beside and south of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store at 2040 Durham Rd.

Kelly said that Osborne Construction has indicated that upon issuance of the permit to proceed with construction, the restaurant should be completed and open for business within 120 days.
