Dallas Allen
The funeral for Dallas Allen, 59, who died Friday, May 30, 2008
at Select Specialty Hospital in Durham following an extended illness,
was conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, June 2, in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church
by Minister Terry Hatchett, the Rev. Benjamin Green and The Rev.
Wallace Allen.
Mr. Allen was the son of the late Horace and Mary C. Allen.
He was educated in Person County schools.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Barbara T. Allen; three daughters,
Yevette A. Thomas and husband, Jeff, of Fuquay-Varina, Yvonne A.
Brodie and husband, Sidney, of Durham and Tonia L. Allen of Roxboro;
four sisters, Shirley A. Roberts, Mary A. Winstead and Evelyn A.
Moore, all of Roxboro and Alice A. Toler of Oxford; four brothers,
Morris Allen of Roxboro, Wallace Allen of Hurdle Mills, Jewell Allen
of Greensboro and James Allen of South Carolina; and 11 grandchildren.
Ailene Kidd Bradsher
ELON The funeral for Ailene Kidd Bradsher, 77, of 2573 Elon-Ossipee
Road, Elon, who died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital,
was conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, in Wicker Street Baptist
Church by the Rev. Tommy Love and the Rev. Garland Walker. Burial
was in Alamance Memorial Park.
A native of Person County, Mrs. Bradsher was the daughter of the
late Thomas Kidd and Sylvia Clayton Kidd and the wife of the late
Willard B. Bradsher.
She was a retired textile employee.
She was a member of Wicker Street Baptist Church and the Golden
Age Circle. She was an avid follower of the gospel group Called
Out who brought her much joy.
Surviviving are three daughters, Norma B. Walker and husband, Garland,
of Elon, Kathy B. Crawford of Haw River and Jaynell B. Jobe and
husband, Brian, of Graham; a son, Colon Willard Bradsher of Burlington;
two sisters, Joan Horton of Hurdle Mills and Vann Soloman of Roxboro;
two brothers, Selby Kidd of Roxboro and Billie Kidd of Timberlake;
five grandchildren, Sherri Welch, Kristi Gibson, Sandi Poe, Bethany
Minor and Brittany Minor; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Gregory,
Jenna Gregory, Kayla Gibson, Brianna Gibson and Chloe Poe; and two
step-grandchildren, Brandon Jobe and Courtney Jobe.
