Neal Gadson III
The funeral for Neal Gadson III, 58, of 79 Three Star Ln., who
died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at Duke University Medical Center, will
be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 20, at Shady Hill Missionary
Baptist Church by Dr. James A. Richmond. Burial will be in the Peace
Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Y. Gadson; 10 children, Timothy Gadson,
Onyago Gadson and wife, Trina, Ned Gadson IV and wife, Christy,
Careatha Williams and husband, Willie, all of Roxboro, Tanya Davis
and husband, Freddie, Tinesha Byrd and husband, Jax, Rosiland Gadson
and Lynette Gadson, all of Fla., Daranda Fulton and Dawn Gadson,
both of N.Y.; brothers and sisters, Michael Yarborough and Natalie
Gadson, both of Shenectady, N.Y., Maurise Rucker of Houdson, N.Y.
Winette Rucker of Decatur, Ga., Ann Young of Lakeland, Fla., Lorenzo
Gadson, James Gadson, Karen Gadson and Frances Hunt, all of Roxboro;
16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas P. Gentry
The funeral for Thomas Plybon Gentry, 85, of 718 Semora Rd., who
died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at his home, was conducted at 11 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 19, at Mill Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian
Hager. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born in Person County, Mr. Gentry was the son of the late George
Thomas and Sallie Morton Gentry.
He was a United States Army veteran having served during World
War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for service in the Arden
Forest.
He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where he was the teacher
of the Robert Wade Sunday School Class.
He sang with the Mill Creek Friends Quartet and enjoyed singing
at local nursing homes.
He loved to bowl and participated in the Senior Bowling League.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Arlene Harris Gentry; a son,
Anthony H. Gentry of Danville, Va.; three daughters and their husbands,
Patricia and Carl Goodwin of Durham, Jodie and Carlyle Hall Jr.
of Wendell and Jennifer and Keith Blalock of Angier; four brothers,
Lamberth Gentry and Marshall Gentry, both of Burlington, Ircil Gentry
of Cary and John Maury Gentry of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Estelle
G. Todd of Winston-Salem, Sue Ingram of Burlington and Hilda McKnight
of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Jason Robert Goodwin, Benjamin
Thomas Hall, Rebecca Anne Hall and Mitchell Keith Blalock.
Pallbearers were Wayne Gentry, Dwight Ingram, Bart McKnight, Jason
Robert Goodwin, Benjamin Thomas Hall, Jimmy Harris, Andy Gentry
and Chip Gentry.
Members of the Robert Wade Sunday School Class and Prince Graves
served at honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church Building
Fund, 1562 Mill Creek Rd., Roxboro, NC 27574 or Home Health &
Hospice of Person County, 355A S. Madison Blvd., Roxboro, NC 27573.

Donna O. Kuser
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. Donna Maree Orbell Kuser, 46, of 1317
Jeffress St., died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born on Nov. 9, 1960, in TePuke, New Zealand, Mrs. Kuser was the
daughter of Brian James Orbell and wife, Eileen Anne, of Washington,
DC and Judith Margaret Hart of Cornwall, UK.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a son, Lucas James Kuser
of South Hill, Va.; a daughter, Sophie Grace Crowell of South Boston;
a sister, Kimberly Stephanie Beaumont of Winchester, UK; and two
brothers, Michael James Orbell and Dean Nicholas Orbell, both of
Washington, DC.
Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home.
Deacon Paul Winstead
NEWARK, N.J. The funeral for Deacon Paul Winstead, 86, of
Newark, who died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, will be conducted at 11
a.m. today, Oct. 20, at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the Rev.
Clyde Glass. Burial will be in the Winstead Family Cemetery.
Mr. Winstead was a native of Person County.
Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Jean Bellamy; a step-son, C. Jefferson
White; five siblings, Delores Jackson, Evanjelist Tammy Little,
Alfred Winstead, Jackie Winstead and Arthur Winstead; four grandchildren;
and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
